Endocrine & Metabolic Disorders

The human body has a network of glands, called the endocrine system, which produces and releases hormones to help regulate key body functions. The thyroid gland which controls a person’s metabolism is part of the endocrine system. An issue with the function of one or more of the endocrine glands can disturb the balance of hormones and lead to an endocrine disorder.

Pain

When the body is injured, pain sensors turn on in the injured area and send a message through the nervous system to the brain causing the sensation of pain. The feeling of pain usually goes away when the injury heals, but chronic pain is different. It can last months or even years. For many people, chronic pain can start after an injury or due to a health condition.
